Fig Leaf Software’s team of expert designers and creative resources worked collaboratively with the AAO 14-member board of directors. Fig Leaf helped to guide the board by walking the AAO through the different types of navigations and the associated benefits of each different format. Fig Leaf consulted with the AAO on the Web Site branding, layout, custom navigation, content organization, images, layouts, and categories. By understanding AAO’s goals, Fig Leaf was able to provide innovative Web site design that incorporated AAO’s unique branding. Fig Leaf created Flash-based movies of before and after treatment photos of patients that add a dynamic visual element.
Following the redesign, Fig Leaf implemented an easy-to-use content management system, CommonSpot, which enables non-technical content experts to add and update web content using a browser. The full featured system also provides work-flow and approval capabilities so distributed groups can collaborate to publish content.
Fig Leaf build and integrated a custom "Find a Specialist" orthodontic locator with the AAO’s membership management system, iMIS. The orthodontic locator enables visitors to quickly find an orthodontist via an easy to use search interface using basic or advanced criteria including the orthodontist's name, or the prospective patient's address or zip code information. If an orthodontist updates their profile information through the iMIS membership system the location information is automatically updated on the AAO locator.
Additionally, Fig Leaf Software configured and implemented the Google Search Appliance (GSA) to enable members and non-members to quickly and easily find relevant information from across the family of AAO websites.
