Fig Leaf developed a simple to use application for Alltel’s security personnel. Using Macromedia ColdFusion and advanced applications of JavaScript, Fig Leaf was able to create a visually appealing, x-browser compatible interface that allowed non-technical security officers to perform complex data entry tasks using a minimum of keystrokes. These tasks included setting work schedules, sending text messages through alphanumeric pagers, submit leave requests, and submitting detailed reports of illegal activities. Through a roles-based security architecture, administrators were then able to execute a series of pre-programmed reports through the query-by-example interface. Using ChartFX data points can also be plotted, manipulated, and exported using a dizzying array of chart types and formatting options. In keeping with the x-browser compatible nature of the application, the client-side components of ChartFX are available as MSIE active-x controls, Netscape 4 plug-ins, or can alternatively be generated as Macromedia Flash SWF or simple JPG files.
