ING (NYSE:ING) is a global financial institution of Dutch origin offering banking, insurance and asset management to over 60 million private, corporate and institutional clients in more than 50 countries. ING employs over 112,000 people in 50 countries, including more than 10,000 in the US, and has been operating in America for over 100 years. ING does business online, over the phone and by mail - without the overhead and high operational costs of other banks.

ING desired to create an online experience to educate consumers on money management best practices.  ING partnered with CNN to provide rich content assets from their holdings, including DC Comics and well known movie assets.

Fig Leaf was hired to provide graphic implementation, animation sequencing and Object Oriented Design/Programming Services in support of the ING Money Mentor project. From storyboards and graphic assets provided by CNN Fig Leaf assembled various media [primarily FLAs and FLVs] to form the final version of ING Money Mentor Modules.  These included:

  • Can I Win the Retirement Race: Featuring Chariots of Fire movie assets
  • How to I Pay for College: Featuring Flash Gordon DC Comic assets
  • How do I Work with a Financial Pro: Featuring This Old House video assets
  • Should I Roll Over My 401K: Featuring Doc Hollywood movie assets
  • How do I Save for College: Featuring Green Lantern DC Comic assets

Fig Leaf brought the high-end Flash programming experience to the ING / CNN team which allowed the ING to launch the Money Mentor site on-time and on-budget.  The Money Mentor project is an excellent example of blending web technologies with rich media assets.
