Environmental Law Institute Public Site

The Environmental Law Institute makes law work for people, places, and the planet. The Institute has played a pivotal role in shaping the fields of environmental law, policy, and management, domestically and abroad. Today, they are an internationally recognized, non-partisan research and education center working to strengthen environmental protection by improving law and governance worldwide.

ELI executive staff desired a new look and feel for their public Website to better reflect the organization's mission.  They also desired additional functionality and had a strong desire to increase program awareness and encourage membership and donations.

Fig Leaf Software hosted a creative session with key ELI stakeholders and led by Fig Leaf's Creative Director and Certified Usability Analyst.  Following the creative session and thorough site review, Fig Leaf delivered a creative brief and a new information architecture based on our discussions.

Fig Leaf designers created new design concepts which were delivered to ELI for review.  Upon completion of review and revisions, Fig Leaf developed an HTML prototype for ELI stakeholders to test before the site was moved into the CMS solution recommended by Fig Leaf Software.

Fig Leaf recommended and implemented Adobe Contribute for ELI because of the relatively small number of site pages, ELI's budget, and the skill set of the communications staff that would be maintaining the new site.  Fig Leaf added specific dynamic functionality required by the customer to handle member authentication, new member sign up and donations.

The new ELI site provides significant new functionality for the organization.  Staff members can now easily manage Web site content using Adobe Contribute and have thus reduced their reliance on outside IT resources.  The new site provides a professional design which better represents the organization and blends well with their online and offline collateral.
