The Kimsey Foundation
Kimsey Foundation Website

Established in 1996 by James Kimsey, the Kimsey Foundation is dedicated to furthering academic and cultural education for economically disadvantaged youth in Washington D.C. The Foundation needed a logo that would appeal to two very diverse audiences—the children the organization serves and prospective contributors and partners. After developing a corporate identity package, the Kimsey Foundation would also need a new Web site that presented the Foundation’s message in a clear and professional manner.

Fig Leaf developed a logo design with a soft edge and then added elements to suggest many of the Kimsey Foundation’s goals and values such as inspiration, possibility and community involvement. Kimsey’s Web site was fashioned with its primary online audience in mind—prospective contributors and partners. The site brings the Foundation’s mission to life by focusing on the result of bringing music, arts and technology into children’s lives. A sophisticated, but bright color palette emphasizes the enrichment and promise this program provides to children. Sepia-toned photographs illustrate the bridging of academic and cultural activities and underprivileged children.

The Kimsey Foundation rolled out the new corporate identity package a Web site to rave reviews. The Web site now serves as a key piece of collateral in furthering the Foundations goal of leveraging strategic partnerships and resources to provide youth educational and cultural initiatives.
